I would like to begin by thanking you for the interest in reading ‘About Us’.
I have a sheer love of dogs. As my dogs are truly devoted to me – I am to them.
Zen Dog was created by years of sharing my life with canines.
I have worked with and handled dogs my entire life. As a child I spent hours and hours with my dogs.
Sitting around and sharing ‘biscuits’ with them. Of course each one of us indulged in the biscuits
my mom had just purchased at the supermarket…yes, me too! I had the pleasure of being raised in a
home that was never short on dogs. We had many different breeds and breed mixes. I am proud to say that
all of our dogs were always rescues from our local shelter, dogs that I would find and wonder home with
and of course my grandmother always added to that by rescuing stray dogs and offering them a wonderful quality of life.
I am most thankful to my parents and grandmother for affording me the opportunity to grow with and respect dogs.

I began seriously training dogs when I was sixteen. I remember the feeling I had when I began seriously training our
Rottweiler Keiti. It is a feeling that I am still familiar with today. I have spent my adult life working with private
clients and their dogs, shelter dogs and the families who adopt them. Working with shelters has certainly been a passion
of mine for the past twelve years. I specialize in behavior problem solving and have been contacted by many dog owners who
had no where left to turn. They had contacted trainers that gave them ‘quick fix’ answers that fell short of actually addressing
and modifying the needs of their dog. Zen Dog offers real life training for real dogs and their owners! The goals that
are set are realistic and because of that are truly successful. My philosophy is to teach our dogs what we want them to know.
